with Helen Czerski

Get Media:  View Online

Every time something moves, it pushes on the air around it. That air around it pushes on the air next to it and before you know it, there's a wave of compressed air spreading out across the room. The air around us is constantly vibrating with waves like this, of different sizes and shapes. Your ears allow you to tap into this field of sound and to hear the shapes of the things that made the sound. You'll never hear the world in the same way ever again!
