Unravelling Mysteries of our Miraculous Brains!with Lizzie Burns, Penny Fidler and with Liz Connor
Elizabeth Connor gets back to her primary school roots and makes a brain out of playdough. Assisting her are Dr Lizzie Burns, a biochemist turned artist and Dr Penny Fidler, an independent neuroscience consultant. On the way they unravel some of the mysteries of this miraculaous organ. We find out why taxi drivers have huge hypothalami and why a man stabbed in the brain with a pole survived with almost all his functions. We hear about the brain-work behind optical illusions and Lizzie tells us about her MRC funded art workshops and what propelled her from biochemistry into the world of art.
