May of 2006 saw the publication of a paper in Nature describing the finalised, annotated sequence of human chromosome 1. With this paper, the Human Genome Project was finally completed. As part of a special issue of BlueSci News dedicated to the Project, Michael Marshall spoke to Dr Simon Gregory, who led the work on chromosome 1.
