Athenaweb - mark II
Thursday, 28 June 2007
AthenaWeb (AthenaWeb) is a virtual home for science communicators: Officially (re)launched in June 2007 at the Sunny Side of the Doc international marketplace for documentaries, AthenaWeb is more than a social networking platform or portal with links to other sites with real content. It is an all-in-one web-workstation for science communicators to broadcast their films, build contacts, promote their businesses, swap news, blog ideas, publish findings, and work on their programmes and projects from anywhere in Europe, or the world. And AthenaWeb already hosts a catalogue of some 750 digitised high-quality scientific films serving a subscriber base of over 8,000 professionals across Europe.

AthenaWeb is 100% backed by the European Commission’s Research Directorate-General and is run by the science communications agency LAB TO MEDIA. EU funding for this initiative is geared towards stimulating science communication, increasing film production and distribution, and setting the scene for science, research and innovation to prosper in Europe, and beyond.

ScienceLive is proud to partner with AthenaWeb as a content provider - stay tuned for further news!
